Today is the 79th birthday of the Golden Gate Bridge, one of San Francisco, California’s most iconic structures.
Continuous improvement is a never ending pursuit. With more than 83,000 tons of exposed steel, keeping the Golden Gate Bridge safe and corrosion free is challenging. Over 200 full time iron workers and painters, often toiling in adverse weather conditions, prepare and repaint affected surfaces. This iconic connection between the city of San Francisco and Marin County remains well-preserved.
